image inside text tutorial

For my first tutorial post, I will show you the step by step on how to achieve this effect.
This is just a cinch and won’t spend a lot of your time.

Step 1 Open the image you want to place inside the text. I will use the rose’s image. I got this photo at http://tips.webdesign10.com/flowers.html

Step 2 Double click the image on layer palette to unlock

Step 3 Pick the Horizontal Type Tool (T) then type your text. Use bold font style.

Step 4 Ctrl-click (Windows) or Command-click (Mac OS) on the text on layers to select.

Step 5 On Menu Bar Go to Select and choose Inverse or Ctrl-Shift-I (Windows) / Command-Shift-I (Mac) for shortcut to invert selection. Make sure you select the image on layers palette, press DEL or BACKSPACE. Then, press Ctrl+D(Windows) Command+D (Mac) to Deselect.

Step 6 On layers palette drag down to trash icon your text layer to delete. The result should look like below.

Step 7 There you have it! You may use the Blending Options for further modifications by pressing the Right click (Windows) or Ctrl Click (Mac) on the image layer.
